SVC Project Coordinator (Placement Opportunity – students only)

based at museum place, Cardiff (combined with home-working and project visits)

                                                        £24,857.12 (pro rata)

39 hours per week– to start September 2025Fixed Term for one academic year

Skills & Volunteering Cymru (SVC) is an independent, volunteer-led charity | SVC (svcymru.org). Supporting 500+ individuals to volunteer across a variety of different projects in Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and Rhondda Cynon Taff. Our projects aim to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation within our different beneficiary groups.

The role will provide an opportunity to work in the Third Sector, and gain experience within Health & Social Care.

We are seeking a placement student to join our small and friendly team for their academic year in industry. The role will involve coordinating a variety of projects supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health conditions. These projects will be delivered by SVC in partnership with Innovate Trust Home | Innovate Trust (innovate-trust.org.uk). Our projects aim to provide additional opportunities to our beneficiaries, whilst providing skill development and a rewarding experience to our dedicated volunteers.

Project Coordinators are the main point of contact and support for both our lead volunteers, and our project volunteers. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the training, supervision and vetting of our volunteers.

We are seeking an enthusiastic team player, who possesses a positive attitude towards disadvantaged and vulnerable people, excellent communication skills, flexibility and dedication.

The successful candidate will be supported and mentored by an experienced SVC staff member, and the SVC Manager. The role will involve a combination of home-working and office-based work, with additional travel to attend various volunteering projects (several of these will be based in Rhondda Cynon Taff), therefore the ability to drive would be advantageous.  

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this role.
